Several broadcasts and articles caught my ears and eyes this week, so I thought I’d share a few.
1. Reason #256 to be a high-mileage runner is provided here. Hint: the more miles a person logs each week, the less affected they are by variances in their diet.
2. If you worry that running is bad for your knees, have a look at this. Knee arthritis may be on the rise, but it’s likely due to obesity rather than any particular activity, except possibly soccer. Sorry soccer!
3. In an interview with a researcher about Seasonal Affective Disorder (aka the winter blues) on the program To the Point, the expert said that a key treatment is physical activity outside at least 30 minutes after sunrise. Even on a cloudy rainy day, it re-syncs our circadian rhythms. Hear it here (in the last 10 minutes of the program.)
Hope you enjoy this Exercise News on the March. It’s been my pleasure to curate it.
