Eggs are Alright

I love an egg in the morning. The protein has a lot of advantages–it repairs and builds new muscle and bone tissue (you need this after a hard workout); it helps you feel full while a breakfast of mainly carbs (cereal, toast, granola, fruits, juices) puts your body into a cycle of blood sugar spiking where you want more carbs. This leads to calories you may not use that get stored as fat.

Some people think eggs are bad for them. Check this out if you you’re carrying an outdated image of eggs. New research and agencies as mainstream as the USDA are saying an egg a day fits easily into recommended daily nutrition guidelines. The amount of cholesterol in the average large egg is 14% less than previously thought.

Making a small batch of hard boiled eggs on the weekend gives you a ready supply for a quick dose of protein during the week.
